Our Admissions Committee will begin reviewing applications in July 2024. You will receive an email notification once your application is under review. The review process is ongoing, and applications are re-reviewed throughout the admissions cycle.
Invitation to Interview!
Approximately 1000 applicants are selected for interview each application cycle. A completed application and a MCAT score are required before an invitation to interview is sent. Long School of Medicine does not have a secondary application in any step of the process.
- Applicants are notified by email (LongSOM@uthscsa.edu) and are given several dates from which to choose. Check your spam/junk folders regularly!
- Letters of Recommendation or Health Professions Committee Packets are not required for the screening/interview process, but are required by the TMDSAS deadline.
- The CASPer is not used in screening decisions, and is required no later than the date of your interview; find out more: Discover CASPer; register for the test: Take CASPer.
- The Duet is a pilot program we strongly encourage you to participate in. Applicants will not be penalized if they choose not to complete it. If you decide to participate, it is due no later than the date of your interview. To find out more information about Duet visit About Duet .
- All applicants who are invited to interview are required to complete the Standard One-Way Video Interview (SOWVI). This is due no later than the date of your interview, just like the CASPer. You can explore more about the SOWVI and complete the interview here: Take the SOWVI
The Big Day - Interviewing at Long School of Medicine!
- Interview days are held on Fridays from August 2024 through January 2025
- We use Zoom as the platform (please use the most updated version)
- The Day begins at 8:45 am and ends by 2:00 pm CST
- Learn all about our community, curriculum, student support, and residency match success.
- One faculty committee member and one medical student interview in a traditional format.
- Lots of interaction with our students throughout the day
- Virtual campus tour
- A Mini “Org Fair” to meet students representing a variety of groups
