| Hooding Ceremony FAQ | - Should I come to the event already dressed in my regalia?
YES, we will not have a changing space for you to put on regalia, please enter the venue ready to go with your hood in hand for the ceremony. - Should I bring my purse/bag, etc?
Please do not bring your purse/bag, etc. There will be no place to store these items and we are unable to guarantee their security. - Where should I go for check-in?
Follow the signs in the auditorium and meet the UME Student Affairs team in the Art Lobby of the Laurie Auditorium. - When should I get to the event?
Graduates should arrive to the venue between 2-2:45pm. This will help our team get you checked-in and lined up alphabetically. - Where should I park?
General parking for graduates and guests will be in the garage that is attached to the auditorium or in Parking Lot B. Follow the directions of the Trinity PD that will be directing traffic. Once those spaces are filled, overflow parking will be at the Alamo Stadium across the street. Please see the attached map.
Disability parking with permits will be in the Orange level of the garage. Make sure your permit is displayed properly, so the officers can direct you appropriately. - What if I didn’t pick up my cords from UME?
We will have any earned cords with us at the check-in table. Please let the team member know that you should have cords. - Will I still be able to get my tickets for my family the day of hooding?
NO, all tickets must be picked up in the UME office by Thursday 5-16-24 at 4:30pm. If you are unable to pick up your tickets by the deadline, please make arrangements with a classmate to have them pick up your tickets. Make sure to communicate that via email to the UME team - Will there be a rehearsal for the hooding ceremony?
No. Please read the instructions provided in this message to prepare properly and help the event run smoothly. - Can I bring balloons, signs, or banners to support my student?
No. In order to not obstruct families from seeing their graduate cross the stage, no signs, banners or balloons will be permitted in the facility. Flowers, cards, and small gifts that you can hold at your seat to provide your graduate after the ceremony are ok. - Can I bring noisemakers to the ceremony?
No. Please note that noisemakers are not allowed at the ceremony. Including, but not limited to airhorns, whistles, cowbells, confetti poppers, and/or musical instruments that are distracting to guests and graduates.
