The House Staff Council is a representative organization serving the residents and fellows at UT San Antonio. Our mission is to improve patient care and graduate medical education by facilitating communication between the residents, the university, the hospitals and our community.
The council is made up of four officers and representatives from each department.
President
Andrew Doan, PGY-II as of July 1, 2026
Psychiatry
"As president, I aim to serve as an effective advocate for residents by fostering open communication, collaborating with program leadership, and advancing initiatives that improve resident wellness, training, and overall quality of life."
Vice President
Holly Miller, M.D., PGY-IV as of July 1, 2026
General Surgery
"As vice president, I am passionate about representing residents and identifying what we need from each other and our institution. Our aim is a culture of safety and support."
Secretary

Internal Medicine
"As Secretary, my goals are to ensure resident voices are heard, maintain clear and organized records of council activities, and support initiatives that enhance resident wellness, professional development, and the overall training experience. Through collaboration and advocacy, I hope to strengthen our resident community and contribute to a positive training environment for all house staff."
Treasurer
Abigail Rodgers, D.O., PGY-III as of July 1, 2026
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
"In the Treasurer role, my goals are to organize engaging events that foster community across residency programs. I will also be managing the HSC budget and assisting residents in navigating the HSC Scholarship process to obtain funding for conferences. I am excited to advocate for and represent my resident colleagues on the House Staff Council!"
