Master of Public Health Program

Step 1: Meeting Admissions Requirements

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure they have met all admissions requirements prior to the application deadline. The application deadline for Fall 2024 is June 1, 2024.

Step 2: Submitting Application and Credentials

Submit the following materials for consideration into the Master of Public Health program:

  • AHCAS Application
  • Application Fee*
  • Unofficial transcript
  • Resume or CV
  • Personal statement
  • Two professional references
  • Foreign Coursework & TOEFL (if applicable)

Upon the deadline for application submissions, the School of Public Health review committee will begin processing and reviewing applications.

UT School of Public Health San Antonio waives the application fee for all qualified applicants. Please e-mail the SPH admissions team at SPHAdmissions@uthscsa.edu to obtain a unique code and instructions.

Regarding International Students:

F-1 visa (for Academic Students) and the M-1 visa (for Vocational Students) applicants intended to study in the U.S. need a Form I-20, “Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.” We are currently not authorized to issue Form I-20s for fall 2024 MPH students. Please check back for updates.

Step 3: Interview

After the application deadline, selected applicants will be invited to complete an online interview. Interview invitations as well as all final admissions decisions will be sent via email from the Office of Admissions.

 

AHCAS Application

Allied Health Centralized Application Service (AHCAS) is the only application required for admission to the UT School of Public Health Health San Antonio.

Application fee

The School of Public Health application fee is $70 (non-refundable). UT School of Public Health San Antonio waives the application fee for all qualified applicants. Please e-mail the SPH admissions team at SPHAdmissions@uthscsa.edu to obtain a unique code and instructions.

 

Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts must be uploaded to the AHCAS platform from every U.S. college or university you have attended. However, official transcripts will be required upon acceptance.

 

Current Resume or Curriculum Vita (CV)

A current resume or curriculum vita must be uploaded to the AHCAS platform prior to the deadline.

 

Personal Statement

Applicants must provide a personal regarding their approach to working in and with the community, understanding of the social determinants of health, and health equity. The personal statement may be used to highlight areas of particular strengths or challenges experienced by the applicant.

 

Professional References

Applicants must provide the names and email addresses of two professional, academic, or community sources highlighting the applicant’s leadership skills, community service, potential for success in the MPH Program, and/or the likelihood of contributing to the field of public health.

 

Foreign Coursework & Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

Transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be submitted in the original language along with an evaluation by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)-approved organization. International applicants whose native language is not English must present evidence of proficiency in English by satisfactorily completing the Test of English as a Foreign Language examination (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 84; English Language Test for Study (IELTS) score of 7.0; or a Duolingo score of 115. Scores on TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo tests that were taken more than two years before the date of application are not acceptable. A waiver of this requirement may be requested if the individual has graduated from a high school or a higher education degree program (associate degree or higher) in the United States or another country where English is the official language.
