White Coat Ceremony

The White Coat Ceremony marks the beginning of your journey into the nursing profession. During this special milestone, students receive their white coat as a symbol of their commitment to compassionate patient care, professionalism, and lifelong learning.

The Student Success Center hosts a White Coat Ceremony for incoming Spring, Summer, and Fall cohorts. The ceremony includes remarks from School of Nursing leadership, faculty, and a keynote speaker who will inspire and encourage you as you begin your nursing education. Students will also recite the nursing pledge, reaffirming their dedication to the values and responsibilities of the profession.

White coat sizing is available at the Student Success Center and during Admitted Students Day. White coats will be provided to students on the day of the White Coat Ceremony.

For questions about upcoming white coat ceremonies, please contact the Student Success Center at 210-567-5892 or SONStudentSuccess@uthscsa.edu.
