The University of Texas School of Public Health San Antonio is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Emmanuel Iyiegbuniwe as the founding Director, Master of Public Health (MPH) Program, effective September 1, 2023.

In his new role, Dr. Iyiegbuniwe will spearhead the strategic vision, provide dynamic leadership, and oversee administrative operations for the university's pioneering the MPH program. His responsibilities will encompass program development, academic stewardship, accreditation and compliance, faculty and staff recruitment, as well as active engagement in research and scholarship. These efforts will pave the way for the program's inaugural class, set to commence in the Fall of 2024. Dr. Iyiegbuniwe will also hold the position of Associate Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health.

With over three decades of academic, administrative, and research expertise, Dr. Iyiegbuniwe brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is a distinguished alumnus of The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health, where he earned both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. Dr. Iyiegbuniwe holds an additional M.S. in Microbiology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and an MBA from Western Kentucky University.
