Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident

Class of 2026

Domenic Diogioia, D.M.D., M.D.

Domenic was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he lived for 29 years before moving to Texas. He attended the University of Central Florida, earning a BS in Biology and Molecular Biology in 2013. After college, Domenic taught biology and chemistry at St. Petersburg College for a year before deciding to pursue a career in dentistry, inspired by his mother's general dentist who provided him with thousands of hours of observation.

Domenic earned his DMD from Nova Southeastern Dental School in 2018, graduating top of his class and receiving numerous awards for his academic achievements. At Nova, he continued his passion for teaching by tutoring in all biomedical courses, leading study clubs, and assisting with head and neck cadaver dissections.

After dental school, Domenic briefly attended the University of Florida for Periodontics in 2018 but soon realized it was not the right fit and left to work as an associate in private practice in his hometown. His time at UF, however, introduced him to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), steering him toward this diverse field. During his stint at UF, Domenic also met his fiancée, a pediatric dental resident who will join him in San Antonio in July 2020 after completing her residency.

Outside of OMFS, Domenic enjoys spending time with loved ones, running, playing tennis, fishing, playing guitar, reading, surfing, and hiking whenever possible.
