Domenic Diogioia
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2026
Domenic was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he lived for 29 years before moving to Texas. He attended the University of Central Florida, earning a BS in Biology and Molecular Biology in 2013. After college, Domenic taught biology and chemistry at St. Petersburg College for a year before deciding to pursue a career in dentistry, inspired by his mother's general dentist who provided him with thousands of hours of observation.
Domenic earned his DMD from Nova Southeastern Dental School in 2018, graduating top of his class and receiving numerous awards for his academic achievements. At Nova, he continued his passion for teaching by tutoring in all biomedical courses, leading study clubs, and assisting with head and neck cadaver dissections.
After dental school, Domenic briefly attended the University of Florida for Periodontics in 2018 but soon realized it was not the right fit and left to work as an associate in private practice in his hometown. His time at UF, however, introduced him to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), steering him toward this diverse field. During his stint at UF, Domenic also met his fiancée, a pediatric dental resident who will join him in San Antonio in July 2020 after completing her residency.
Outside of OMFS, Domenic enjoys spending time with loved ones, running, playing tennis, fishing, playing guitar, reading, surfing, and hiking whenever possible.

Jared Hope, D.D.S., M.D.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2026
Dr. Jared Hope was born in San Antonio, Texas and grew up in Lubbock, Texas. He attended Texas Tech University for his undergraduate education, graduating Cum Laude in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While at Texas Tech, Jared also participated on the Texas Tech men’s tennis team. After graduation, he earned his emergency medical technician license and worked in EMS from 2013-14.
Dr. Hope then attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, where he earned his master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2016. After receiving his master’s degree, Dr. Hope attended UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in May 2020, graduating with highest honors, and ranked in the top 10% of his class.
Dr. Hope will begin his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2020 where he is expected to receive his M.D. in 2023 and complete his residency in 2026.
His interests in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery stem from the combination of both medicine and dentistry that OMFS entails, the diverse and challenging scope, and the satisfaction of truly making a difference in people’s lives.
Outside of OMFS, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelsy, and his son Corbin. His other interests include working out, playing tennis, and watching sports.

Patrick Scholl, D.D.S., M.D.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2026
Dr. Patrick Scholl was born and raised in Austin, Texas where his family currently resides. He attended St. Edward’s University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2015. During college, he also enjoyed being a pitcher for the St. Edward’s baseball team.
Upon graduation, Patrick moved to Miami, Florida to earn his Master’s in Biomedical Sciences at Barry University. He then moved back to Texas to attend The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. Dr. Scholl earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in May 2020.
Dr. Scholl will begin his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2020 where he is expected to receive his M.D. in 2023 and complete his residency in 2026. His interest in oral surgery comes from the impact it can have on people’s lives and the challenging scope.
Patrick enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as playing sports and enjoying the outdoors.

Juliana Gaviria, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2027
Dr. Juliana Gaviria was born and grew up in Medellin, Colombia. She graduated with a degree in general dentistry from Universidad CES in Medellin, Colombia in 2010, with honorable mention for excellence in academic and ethical work. She completed an externship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology at the University of Buenos Aires, an experience which formed the foundation of her passion for oral surgery.
In January 2018, she joined the International Dentistry Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. She completed her DDS in 2020, earning the William H. Bell Award for Predoctoral Achievement in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Southwest Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Award, and the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Student Award. She was additionally inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society for her commitment to academic excellence. After graduation from dental school Dr. Gaviria completed a 1-year OMFS internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio before matching into the program’s 6-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency, where she is looking forward to spending the next years learning and working toward her longtime dream of becoming an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
Outside of OMFS, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé Christian, her dog Oso, her family, and friends. Her other interests include visiting family in Colombia, traveling to new places, going to concerts and working out.

Samantha Moore, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2027
Dr. Samantha Moore was born and raised in rural central Texas. She is a member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2016, graduating early from Texas A&M University at College Station in December 2015 magna cum laude with her bachelor of science in biology and minor in neuroscience. During her time at Texas A&M, she was a Terry Foundation Scholar and completed two cancer research internships at MD Anderson.
Dr. Moore then attended the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry, where she earned her D.D.S with highest honors, distinction in research and distinction in dental education, graduating at the top of her class in 2020. She was highly involved during dental school, holding many student leadership roles including President of the American Association of Women Dentists San Antonio chapter and President of the American Academy of Oral Medicine San Antonio chapter, helping coordinate local dental and oral cancer screening events, providing tutoring, as well as completing research involving use of stem cells to reduce orofacial inflammation and pain. During her second year, she was awarded the Tylenol Future Care National Scholarship, which was selected “based on academic excellence, exemplary leadership, community involvement, and dedication to a career of caring for others.”
She was inducted into the Mu Nu chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and earned awards to include the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Student Award, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology Horace Wells Senior Award, American Academy of Oral Medicine Merit Award, Award for Outstanding Achievement in Community Dentistry, RIDE Award for Student Research in Dental Education, the American Association of Women Dentists Eleanor J. Bushee Senior Dental Student Award, and Senior Clinic Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry.
After completing a one-year oral and maxillofacial surgery internship in 2021, Dr. Moore began her formal residency in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UT Health San Antonio. She is expected to earn her M.D. from the Long School of Medicine in 2024 and complete her residency in 2027.
Dr. Moore discovered her interest in oral & maxillofacial surgery during her clinical rotations in dental school, appreciating the combination of medicine and dentistry. She is passionate about improving the quality of life of her patients through improving function and esthetics, relieving pain, and providing patient education. She is excited to continue her medical and surgical training at UT Health San Antonio.
Her interests beyond OMS include spending time with her family and friends, hiking and traveling to state and national parks, and discovering great local food.

Hannah Grimes, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2027
Dr. Hannah Grimes was born in Tulsa, OK and raised in Shreveport, LA. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Upon graduation, Dr. Grimes attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry and earned her D.D.S. in 2021.
While in dental school she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and was awarded the ACOMS William H. Bell Award, AAOMS Dental Student Award, Reichmann Society Fellowship Award, and William S. Kramer Award of Excellence.
She began her oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2021 and is expected to earn her M.D. in 2024.
In her free time, Dr. Grimes enjoys spending time with her family, her husband, Reid, and their cat, Princess. She also enjoys traveling, playing piano, and exploring San Antonio.

Michael B. Andrews, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2028
Dr. Michael Andrews was born and raised in Kingwood, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he graduated summa cum laude in 2018, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. He was recognized with the Gathright Scholar Award as a junior. In college he worked as an assistant to an endodontist in College Station, Texas, who inspired his pursuit of dentistry and who served as his mentor.
He then attended University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. He graduated number one in his class, earning his D.D.S. in 2022, becoming the first dentist in his family. During dental school he completed the Academic Dental Career Fellowship Program and led a research project focused on perioperative hand hygiene.
While in dental school, Dr. Andrews was awarded the Walter G. Sterling Outstanding Student Award and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He was also awarded the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons William H. Bell Award and the Houston Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award.
He began his residency in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2022 where he is expected to earn his M.D. in 2025 and complete his residency in 2028.
Dr. Andrews’ interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery began early on in dental school inspired by the interface of medicine and dentistry and its unique scope as the surgical specialty of dentistry. He wants to serve his community and recognizes this field as an opportunity to help others with their oral and overall health.
In his spare time, he enjoys being active by going to the gym, road cycling, spending time outdoors, and reading.

Celin E. Duran, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2028
Dr. Celin Duran is from Silver Spring, Maryland. He attended Brigham Young University where he received his bachelor’s degree in business management in 2018. He attended dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received his D.D.S. in 2022, graduating with honors and ranked among the top 5% of his class. He was honored by induction into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and was awarded the Susan P. Foy Award For Excellence in Clinical Research in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Duran discovered his interest for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery shortly before dental school while shadowing an oral surgeon near his university. Since he had always felt drawn to both medicine and dentistry, OMS felt like a career that brought together all his interests. He is passionate about improving the quality of life of his patients and to eventually be able to teach and mentor future generations of Oral Surgeons.
He began his residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2022 and is expected to receive his M.D. in 2025.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children, building memories with them, and watching movies.

Xinhong (Audrey) Qiu, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2028
Dr. Xinhong (Audrey) Qiu was born in China and immigrated to the United States with her parents when she was eight years old. She spent the majority of her childhood growing up in Montgomery County, Maryland. She attended Wellesley College, where she received a BA in Chemistry in 2013. Throughout college, Dr. Qiu discovered her interest in dentistry by assisting her dad, a general dentist who enjoys practicing the full scope of dentistry.
After graduating from Wellesley, Dr. Qiu enrolled in the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She graduated from dental school with High Honors in 2017 and subsequently pursued an additional year of training at the Long Beach VA AEGD in California. There, she gained abundant clinical experience in dentoalveolar surgeries.
Dr. Qiu worked as a general dentist in Maryland prior to specializing. She is drawn to oral and maxillofacial surgery because of its demand for teamwork and the significant impact it has on patients’ lives.
In her free time, Dr. Qiu enjoys being outdoors with her dog (Echo), creating art, and rock climbing.

D. Clark Currier, D.M.D.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2029
Dr. D. Clark Currier Jr. was born in Evansville, Indiana and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for his undergraduate education, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Nutrition.
Dr. Currier then attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Louisville, Kentucky, earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in May 2022 and graduating Magna Cum Laude. He was awarded the inaugural Dr. Brian Alpert ULSD Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Award.
A few weeks after graduation, Dr. Currier commissioned into the U.S. Army and was assigned to Ft. Sam Houston as a general dentist.
Dr. Currier began his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2023 where he is expected to receive his M.D. in 2026 and complete residency in 2029.
Outside of OMFS, he enjoys anything involving sports and staying active, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

Efrain Anaya, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2029
Dr. Efrain Anaya was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston in 2018, where he received his B.S. in Physics and B.A. in English. He attended dental school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, graduating among the top 5% of his class and becoming the first dentist in his family.
During his time in dental school, Dr. Anaya worked as a dental assistant in an underserved area. He was motivated to pursue a career in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery due to a shortage of personnel capable of handling emergent and acute cases. Moreover, these challenging and intricate cases held a deep fascination for him, making the pursuit of oral and maxillofacial surgery not only a service to the community but also a personal passion.
Before enrolling in residency, he completed a one-year internship at Baylor/Texas A&M Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Dallas Texas in June 2023.
In his free time, Dr. Anaya enjoys running around with his dog Logan, working out, savoring great food, and spending quality time with his friends and family.

Neil Mascarenhas, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2029
Dr. Neil Mascarenhas grew up in Dallas, TX. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Dallas where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. After graduation, Dr. Mascarenhas attended Texas A&M School of Dentistry and earned his D.D.S. in 2023.
While in dental school, he became interested in pursuing a career in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after participating in rotations and clinical research in the field. He began his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2023 and is expected to earn his M.D. in 2026.
In his free time, Dr. Mascarenhas enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, paddle-boarding, and exploring San Antonio.

Cheyenne Alexander, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2030
Dr. Cheyenne Alexander was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She received a bachelor’s degree in Honors Science and Humanities from Texas Tech University graduating with highest honors in 2020.
She then attended dental school at UT Health San Antonio where she earned her D.D.S., graduating with higher honors and ranked amongst the top of her class in 2024. While in dental school she published the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Case of the Month in November 2023 in the Texas Dental Journal. She was inducted into the Mu Nu chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society and earned awards to include the AAOMS Dental Student Award, American Academy of Oral Medicine Merit Award, Student Government Association Student Leader Award, and the San Antonio District Dental Society Next Generation Award.
Dr. Alexander began her residency in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at UT Health San Antonio in 2024. She is expected to earn her M.D. from the Long School of Medicine in 2027 and to complete her residency in 2030.
Dr. Alexander discovered her interest in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after receiving lectures from the OMFS faculty while in dental school and confirmed this interest through an externship with the department shortly thereafter. She is looking forward to continuing her medical and surgical training at UT Health San Antonio with a special interest in orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, and TMJ surgery.
Her interests beyond OMFS include spending time with her friends, hiking, painting, listening to live music, and discovering local coffee shops.

Claudia Dukler, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2030
Dr. Claudia Dukler was born in New York, NY and raised in central NJ. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience and minors in medical diagnostics and human development. She continued to dental school, following in her mother's footsteps, and attending New York University. Through numerous experiences in several specialties, Dr. Dukler fell in love with the challenge, comradery and intricacy of procedures performed in the operating room, and she committed to pursuing Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Dukler has achieved several publications during her undergraduate studies and during dental school, as well as winning the AADR Dentsply Sirona Student Competition for Advancing Dental Research and its Application (SCADA) award for her research with Dr. Thomas Wiedemann. During her time at NYU, she organized several philanthropies for people with craniofacial differences, integrating her colleagues across different specialties. Her interests within the field of OMFS include orthognathic surgery and craniofacial reconstruction.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Dukler enjoys exercising, traveling abroad, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with her friends and family.

Brandon Naraghi, D.D.S.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2030
Dr. Brandon Naraghi grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He received his bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from University of California Santa Cruz with cum laude and highest honors in Neuroscience. After undergraduate, he went to University of California San Francisco School of Dentistry, earning his DDS in 2023. During dental school, he became interested in oral and maxillofacial surgery through shadowing and clinical rotations, and after graduating dental school he furthered his interest in the field by completing a 1-year internship in OMFS at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX.
Dr. Naraghi began his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio in 2024, where he is expected to receive his MD in 2027 and complete residency in 2030. San Antonio is a wonderful city, and he has loved living in Texas and enjoying the great food, excellent hospitality, and kindness of Texans.
In his free time, Dr. Naraghi likes staying active, spending time with friends and family, and spending time with his lovely fiancé who is also from California and is in Neurology residency at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, TX.

Alexa Perez, D.M.D.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Resident - Class of 2030
Dr. Alexa Lianette Perez was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. She attended Florida Atlantic University for her undergraduate studies where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2018.
In 2023, Dr. Perez earned her D.M.D from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, achieving notable awards for her academic excellence and graduating amongst the top of her class. Following this, Dr. Perez went on to complete a 1-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida-Jacksonville.
Dr. Perez is expected to earn her M.D. from the Long School of Medicine in 2027. Concurrently, she is dedicated to her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UT Health San Antonio, where she eagerly anticipates delving into the comprehensive scope of the field. She is projected to complete her residency in 2030.
Beyond the realm of OMFS, she enjoys scuba diving, reading, and spending quality time with her friends and family. Dr. Perez looks forward to having the privilege of spending the coming years learning from the esteemed physicians at UT Health San Antonio and working alongside her co-residents.
