Dissemination Resources

Texas DNP is an organization representing Doctor of Nursing Practice graduates, students and faculty in Texas. Texas DNP advances the health of individuals, families, and communities by promoting evidence-based practices and advocating for patient access, quality and safety.

Tips for DNP Students Planning Conference Dissemination

1. Align Your Abstract With Conference Themes
  • Clinical DNP projects: poster sessions at NP-focused conferences or nursing science meetings.
  • Leadership or program improvement: AACN Doc Ed, regionals, state organizations.
  • Population health/policy: NAHN and special interest forums.
2. Track Deadlines Early

Many conferences (e.g., Texas NP and international nursing science) require submissions months before the event, e.g., Feb for Texas NP and Jan for international nursing science.

3. Check for Student Rates & Travel Support

Most major societies (AACN, NONPF, NAHN) offer reduced student registration rates, plus potential travel awards through academic sponsors or internal school funding.

4. Prepare Multiple Formats

Have a poster draft and short oral synopsis ready. Some conferences offer both poster halls and “lightning talk” options.
