This content comes from a panel of presenters at the Cardio Renal Connections Conference in 2023 and consists of the following presentations:

  • Plant-based Eating Patterns for Cardiometabolic Health (Casey M. Rebholz, PhD, MD, MNSP, MOH)
    This presentation looks at the backgrounds and methods of plant-based diets, as well as their effect on patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.

    This presentation covers the background and current data associated with intermittent fasting.
     
  • Effect of Nutrients on Microbiome Modulation: Dietary Approach to Improve Cardiometabolic Outcomes (Vidya Sharma, MA, RD, LD, CDCES)
    This presentation provides an introduction to the gut microbiome, metabolites, the physiological and pathological effects of the gut microbiome, an overview of the gut-kidney-heart axis, and therapeutic interventions.
