School of Dentistry 44th Annual Research & Clinical Symposium

The School of Dentistry celebrated its 44th Annual Research and Clinical Symposium at the end of February in the Holly Auditorium and Foyer at UT San Antonio Health Science Center. This year’s symposium welcomed a full auditorium as doctoral students, post-doctoral residents and faculty presented a total of 38 oral and poster research projects.


School of Dentistry student earns top honors at ADEA Annual Conference

Students, faculty, and alumni from the UT San Antonio School of Dentistry represented the institution at the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Annual Session and Exhibition in Montreal, Canada, in late March, participating in poster sessions and engaging panel discussions.


Anibal Diogenes, DDS, PhD, appointed associate dean for special projects

The UT San Antonio School of Dentistry is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Anibal Diogenes, DDS, PhD, as associate dean for special projects, effective March 1, 2026. Dr. Diogenes will continue in his current role as chair of the Department of Endodontics.

Yong-Hee P. Chun completes year of leadership as president of Southwest Society of Periodontists

COSTAR trainee earns award at prestigious Bones and Teeth GRC

UT San Antonio advances in national Blue Ridge rankings

In its first appearance in the national standings as a united institution, UT San Antonio posted a strong performance in the latest rankings from the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research. The Blue Ridge Institute is an independent nonprofit organization that compiles annual funding data from the National Institutes of Health.


Chronic pain research receives major NIH grant

A five-year, $9 million National Institutes of Health National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke study that began in 2022 recently received approval at the three-year mark, allowing investigators to continue their work examining the biological mechanisms of TMJ disorders. The project is part of a national consortium of five institutions conducting complementary studies across the country.
