The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS), in partnership with the Graduate Student Association, invites you to attend the 2026 Mikiten Research Symposium on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at the Greehey Children's Cancer Research Institute.
The Mikiten Research Symposium will be a full day dedicated to science communication while highlighting our students’ work. This year’s theme is "The Scientist's Voice: Styles, Skills and Strategies for Impact.” This theme emphasizes the importance of communicating research clearly, confidently, and concisely to diverse audiences.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from an exciting lineup of invited speakers, present their work through abstract competitions, 3-Minute Thesis Competition, and Poster Presentation Competition, and gain practicable and implementable skills. This symposium is designed to enhance students' academic development, professional portfolios, and personal growth.
Students who are interested in participating in a competition will need to follow the submission dates for each competition. For those interested in attending the symposium, please submit the registration form by Friday, February 6 to assist with event planning and an accurate headcount for food.

Poster Guidelines
The Poster Competition will take place in the GCCRI Lobby from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. Each poster will be evaluated by two judges. Students are responsible for printing their own poster. Posters should be 4' x 6'. Be prepared to present your poster to a general audience. Students presenting posters should wear professional business attire. Poster competition deadline is January 30, 2026.
