UT School of Public Health San Antonio founding chair Gimeno receives $250,000 UT System Faculty STARs award

David Gimeno Ruiz de Porras, PhD, MSc, LPsy has been awarded a $250,000 UT System Faculty Science and Technology Acquisition and Retention (STARs) award to support the research endeavors of The University of Texas School of Public Health San Antonio, where he serves as founding chair of the Environmental and Occupational Health Department. A trained psychologist and social and occupational epidemiologist, Gimeno plans to use the funds to enhance collaborative projects by investing in state-of-the-art equipment. This includes developing real-time mobile air quality monitoring to map air pollution in San Antonio and providing students with hands-on learning opportunities in environmental and occupational health sciences.
