Delegates from Rep. Joaquin Castro’s office visit School of Public Health

Congressman Staff Visit

 

The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio recently welcomed a noteworthy visit from Rose Ann Maldonado, who serves as the district director in U.S. Congressman Joaquin Castro's office, along with four of her colleagues from the district office. This visit was organized to showcase The University of Texas School of Public Health San Antonio

During this visit, which featured a guided tour and an informative session, the university's dedication to serving the greater good by assessing the healthcare needs of the region and cultivating the future workforce in public health was prominently highlighted. 

One of the highlights of the delegation's tour was a visit to the construction site for the new classrooms at the school. Additionally, the group had the opportunity to explore the Research Administration Building, which serves as the school's new headquarters. Dean Vasan Ramachandran, MD, FACC, FAHA, and Associate Dean of Finance and Administration Deepu Kurian, PhD, led the group through a tour of the building's third and fourth floors, where extensive renovations are currently underway to create state-of-the-art classrooms and staff offices.
