Texas Biomedical Research Institute is proud to host the 4th Global Health Symposium, a two-day hybrid conference bringing together thought leaders from global health, biomedical research, sustainability, business and policy. School of Public Health dean Vasan Ramachandran, MD, will be a plenary speaker.


National Public Health Week (NPHW) Kickoff | April 7, 11 a.m. | UT Health San Antonio Long Campus, Pestano Lecture Hall 3401A

At this kickoff event, we invite the community to explore the UT School of Public Health San Antonio's vision for fostering local partnerships in public health and wellbeing.

Taylor Eighmy, PhD, president of the University of Texas at San Antonio and acting president of UT Health San Antonio will deliver opening remarks.

Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai and Bexar County Public Health Director Andrea Guerrero, PhD, MPH, will announce Public Health Summit 2026, a collaborative event that showcases public health and its importance in Bexar County and South Texas.

UT School of Public Health San Antonio Dean Vasan Ramachandran, MD, and Chair of the Department of Health Policy and Health Services Administration, Michael Halper, MD, PhD, will moderate a panel discussion on the vital role of healthcare partnerships in San Antonio’s public health landscape.

In this moderated panel session, hear from the School of Public Health’s corporate and community partners on how they collectively impact public health for the better.

NPHW: Mindful Moments: Student Wellness Workshop | April 9, 3 p.m. | UT School of Public Health San Antonio, 1st floor

All students are welcome! The UT Health San Antonio Student Counseling Center will guide students through a mindfulness activity. The workshop will conclude with a discussion on self-awareness and self-care. Wellness exercises and techniques demonstrated. Food and light snacks will be provided.


NPHW: Metro Health Public Health Fest | April 10, 4 p.m. | Rosedale Park

The School of Public Health is partnering with Metro Health for this community event that will offer resources, entertainment, a pop-up vaccination clinic, information from Metro Health programs, and more. No preregistration necessary.

Join us at Empower House for a discussion on comprehensive wellbeing and yoga as a trauma-informed practice with Frederika Easley.
