The 3rd Annual BioMed Career Fair is scheduled for March 21, 2025.

BioMed Career Fest brings together life science graduate trainees to explore career paths, hear from industry experts, practice elevator pitches, and learn about future internship and career opportunities. For industry professionals, this event will be an opportunity to get in front of a talented pool of MS, PhD, and postdoctoral-level trainees from UT Health San Antonio, as well as local and regional universities. Purpose:

  • Expose graduate students from South Texas to diverse internship and career opportunities in the life sciences, including roles in academia, industry, government, and beyond.
  • Facilitate meaningful networking opportunities for life sciences students and postdoctoral researchers to connect with professionals and mentors from various sectors.
  • Provide actionable professional development resources and workshops to empower attendees in advancing their career exploration and readiness.

History

The inaugural BioMed Career Fest was held in April 2023. The event was hosted by the GSBS Office of Student Success and Enventure-SA. BioMed Career Fest provides opportunities for students to build one-one-one connections with biomedical professionals in both academia and industry. This program provides opportunities for students to explore potential career paths. It also offers advanced graduate students an opportunity to meet with industry recruiters as they begin their career transitions. A total of 178 trainees RSVP’d for BioMed Career Fest 2023, over 200+ in 2024. Additionally, the university welcomed over 30 scientists to our campus each year for career exploration interviews and networking with students.
