Abstract Deadline: 12 February

All accepted abstracts will be programmed as an oral presentation for the 2021 Behavior Biology and Chemistry Meeting. Each abstract must be formatted, per the instructions in the Abstract Submission Form, and uploaded as a .docx at the time of registration. BBC Coordinators will work with presenters to set up the presenter’s showcase prior to the conference.

New for 2021:

In addition to the abstract, each presenter will submit a pre-recorded, 3-minute video presentation of their research, including a brief introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. Presenters are encouraged to record their presentation using PowerPoint, and submit their video using Youtube. Once uploaded, access to presentations will be restricted to individuals with the direct link embedded within the conference platform. Videos will be available for viewing throughout the conference, and will remain on the platform for viewing after the conference. Any video that exceeds the 3-minute mark will not be considered.

Presenters will be assigned to two sessions, one to allow for a live question and answer period with meeting attendees, and another for interacting with judges. A dedicated chat channel will be available for asynchronous questions outside of live sessions.

In addition to these two sessions, the Program Committee will select a subset of abstracts to highlight during the conference. These presentations will programed during daily “Featured Topic” sessions, with each 3-minute presentation followed by a live question and answer period open to all meeting attendees.

Please follow these instructions carefully:

  • Abstracts must fit in the box as specified in the Abstract Submission Form (height 5”, width 6.5”).
  • Font: Arial, Size 11 point.
  • Title should be BOLD.
  • On a line below the title, list the last name, first name middle initial and the affiliations of each author. Presenting author should be first author.
  • Abstracts that are not formatted properly will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts will appear in the program exactly as entered.

Abstracts must include the following: rationale, hypothesis, species, number of subjects, procedures (methods and statistical analyses), results, and conclusions (importance of findings).
