UT SELECT Preventive Care Incentive Program
Schedule Your Preventive Exam
UT SELECT has introduced a new preventive care requirement through the Preventive Care Incentive Program (PCIP). Employees and covered spouses must have a qualifying preventive exam on file by the applicable deadline to avoid a $50 monthly premium differential beginning in May 2027.
For employees and covered spouses active with UT SELECT as of Aug. 31, 2026, the deadline to meet the requirement is Feb. 28, 2027.
UT Health San Antonio is making it easier to get the care you need.
Schedule early for more options
Appointment availability may become more limited as the deadline approaches. Schedule your preventive exam early for greater flexibility in finding an appointment and location that work for you.
Options to Schedule Your Exam
Already have a primary care provider?
Contact your provider to schedule your preventive exam. When scheduling, be sure to specify that you need an annual preventive exam to meet the UT SELECT requirement.
Need an appointment? UT Health can help.
You do not need to be an existing patient. UT Health provides appointment options for employees and covered spouses through:
- UT Health Primary Care locations across San Antonio
- Wellness 360 in the School of Nursing
Complete our brief scheduling request form, and a member of our team will contact you within three business days to help find an available appointment.
Covered spouses can use this service, too. You may request scheduling assistance on their behalf, and our team will contact your spouse directly to schedule their appointment.
Prefer to call? Contact UT Health Primary care at 210-450-9000 or Wellness 360 at 210-567-2788.
What to Expect at Your Preventive Exam
A preventive exam focuses on your overall health, wellness and prevention. Depending on your individual needs, your visit may include:
- A physical exam
- Wellness and prevention education
- Discussion of recommended vaccines and screenings, such as mammograms, colonoscopies or lab work based on your age and health needs
New to UT Health Primary Care?
After you complete your annual preventive exam, you can establish ongoing care with a UT Health primary care provider.
Your preventive exam generally does not include medication refills, referrals, or evaluation of other medical concerns. You may discuss additional concerns with your provider, but addressing them during the visit may result in additional copays, coinsurance, or deductible costs.
Already completed your exam?
If you have a qualifying preventive exam on file from February 2026 to February 2027, you may already meet the requirement and not need another appointment.
If your preventive exam does not appear in your claims history or you have questions about whether it meets the requirement, contact the UT SELECT Concierge at 866-882-2034 for assistance.
