Prosthetists at UT Health San Antonio provide customized, comprehensive treatment plans for patients with lower limb amputations to help them achieve their goals. Our services include prosthetic limbs, post-operative care, and prosthetic supply and socket replacements.
According to the National Limb Loss Information Center, there are approximately 1.7 million people living with limb loss in the United States. Limb loss, or amputation, can be caused by vascular complications/diabetes, cancer, trauma, or may be congenital. Prosthetists at UT Health San Antonio will design and custom fabricate a prosthesis to fit a patient's residual limb after evaluating each patient's needs and goals for their prosthetic device. The prosthetic design and componentry will take into account each patient’s activity level, prognosis, occupation, and goals for prosthetic use. We also provide ongoing follow up services to ensure that your prosthesis allows you to continue to meet your needs and reach your functional goals.

- Hemipelvectomy (transpelvic)
- Hip Disarticulation
- Transfemoral (above knee)
