The FDA has banned red dye No. 3 in foods and medications due to health concerns, including links to hyperactivity in children and thyroid cancer in lab animals. Manufacturers have until 2027 to reformulate food products and until 2028 for medications. If you're concerned, experts recommend avoiding the dye now.
