UT Health Physicians now offers E-visits for existing primary care patients through MyChart. E-Visits allow patients to easily connect with primary care providers to receive convenient, personalized care for common medical conditions.
“Patients of UT Health Physicians can have their acute medical concerns addressed through E-Visits on MyChart,” said Joyce Yuen, DO, medical director of UT Health Shavano and the Virtual Clinic Café. “During E-Visits, patients answer questions about their symptoms, and based on their answers, an expert clinician will provide a diagnosis and a treatment plan.”
Who can request an E-Visit?
Existing UT Health San Antonio primary care patients who:
- Are located in Texas at the time of the E-Visit request
- Have a MyChart account
How do E-Visits work?
During an E-Visit, patients communicate with providers by exchanging messages in MyChart. If necessary for care, your E-Visit can be converted to a video visit with a provider in just one click. Request an E-Visit on MyChart to easily connect with primary care providers to receive convenient, personalized care online.
Patients can submit E-Visit requests using MyChart at any time. When requesting an E-Visit, patients will answer a questionnaire and provide details about their specific symptoms or medical conditions. After submitting an E-Visit request, a primary care provider will review the information and respond within 24 hours. If the request is submitted over the weekend, the provider will respond within 24 hours of the next business day.
“Our e-visit care is better than any other similar system because we have access to a patient’s UT Health medical record to make the best medical decision possible. Also, our team communicates with the patient’s primary care physicians to provide continuity of care,” shared Yuen.
