Rheumatologists at the physician practice of UT Health San Antonio are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis and other rheumatic diseases affecting joints and related tissues.

We provide compassionate and expert care for a variety of rheumatic diseases and conditions which include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus, gout, osteoarthritis, inflammatory muscle disease (myositis), inflamed arteries (vasculitis), scleroderma and other conditions.

UT Health San Antonio's Lupus Clinic is the only center specializing in systemic lupus erythematosus in South Texas and our Rheumatoid Arthritis Clinic specializes in the use of biologic drugs and other high-risk medications.

Your first step is an exam with one our rheumatologists after which we may need to send you for an X-ray, MRI or other form of diagnostic imaging. Our providers will work with you to build a treatment plan to get you back to health as quickly as possible.

Treatments may include physical therapy, prescription medication and, in some cases, surgery. We partner with orthopedic and neurosurgeons from the physician practice of UT Health San Antonio who are some of the most experienced in the region for surgical treatment of rheumatic conditions.
