Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing accelerated track, applicants must meet the following admission criteria by the application deadline:

  • Non-nursing bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (prior to the start of the program)
  • Prerequisite GPA (based on the required prerequisite courses only): minimum 3.0
  • Complete a minimum of 51 hours from the required prerequisite courses, including all math and science courses*
  • Complete the interview and writing sample via the Kira Talent platform (embedded within the NursingCAS application)
  • Submit the non-refundable School of Nursing application fee (embedded within the NursingCAS application)
  • Submit the NursingCAS application fee (paid when you submit your application)

*If an applicant lacks 9 hours of prerequisite coursework in non-math and non-science subjects, they will still be eligible for admission. However, it is required that the missing courses are completed before the first day of the program (if admitted).

Prerequisite Courses

Prior to attending UT San Antonio, all BSN students must complete a set of prerequisite courses at a regionally accredited institution, and all prerequisite courses must be passed with a grade of C or higher.

Applicants must complete at least 51 out of 60 hours of prerequisite courses, including all math and science courses identified in the table below, prior to submitting an application. The remaining 9 hours of liberal arts courses must be completed prior to enrollment if the applicant is admitted.
