Sohini Dhar, DDS, elected to the Board of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry as Director-at-Large

Sohini Dhar, DDS, MPH, FICD, assistant professor of comprehensive dentistry, elected Director-at-Large to the Board of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry.

 

The School of Dentistry is proud to announce that Sohini Dhar, DDS, MPH, FICD, assistant professor of comprehensive dentistry, has been elected to serve as the Director-at-Large on the Board of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD) from 2024 to 2027.

Dhar has been an active member of AAPHD for several years, previously serving as a council member and chair for AAPHD’s Council on Educational Affairs. 

In addition to her involvement with AAPHD, Dhar is an active member and leader within several national and state-level professional dental organizations, including the American Dental Education Association, Texas Oral Health Coalition and Texas Public Health Association.

Dhar shared her enthusiasm for her new role, “Being able to serve on the AAPHD Board will give me the opportunity to contribute towards and advocate for the mission, vision, policies and member recruitment of AAPHD at a larger scale. It will be an absolute honor to serve on the Board of AAPHD for the next three years.”

The AAPHD focuses on improving public oral health by developing and supporting effective programs for oral health promotion and disease prevention.
