School of Dentistry 2025 graduate highlights

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, 1,100 graduates from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio participated in the combined spring and summer commencement ceremony at the Alamodome.

The School of Dentistry awarded degrees or certificates to 177 graduates, including 108 Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees and 23 Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degrees.

Nikole Kramer, Doctor of Dental Surgery

Nikole shared some critical advice for incoming dental students, her clinical experience and her post-graduation plan to join the UT Health San Antonio Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery team as an intern before going to Missouri to take over her father’s practice.

Sophia Sharpe, Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene 

Sophia shared her first impressions and lasting memories as she recalls her time at UT Health San Antonio. "I feel incredibly proud to be one of the first cohorts to be able to administer local anesthetic, here in the state of Texas, at my school."

Geovanna Patta, Doctor of Dental Surgery, International Dentist Education Program

Geovanna shared her advice for incoming IDEP students and reflected on her time at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. "One challenge I faced was being far from my friends and family. What helped was networking, relying on my friends and classmates. I couldn't have gone through it without them."
