Raksha Parthasarathy
Ph.D. Student
Raksha Parthasarathy is a fourth year PhD student in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics under the mentorship of Dr Elizabeth Leadbetter. She was the President of the Graduate Student International Club for the year 2020-21. Currently, she serves as the Secretary for the Student Government Association. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Biotechnology Engineering from Ramaiah Institute of Technology, India.
Her research focuses on the role of cell death molecules in innate-like lymphocyte homeostasis, function and fate decision. RIP kinases modulate the function of cells through intricate cell signaling pathways and by using knockout mice, she studies their role in innate B and T cell function. In addition, she studies the cues and signals that lead to memory B cell development.
In her spare time, she likes to cross stitch, watch movies, and paint.
