BSN to DNP-Nurse Anesthesia admission requirements:

  • BSN degree from a CCNE, ACEN, or NLNAC accredited program.
  • Current licensure as an RN in Texas or hold a compact license with multi-state privileges that includes Texas.
  • GPA from Last 60 Hours of College Coursework: 3.0.
  • GRE requirement: Graduate Record Examination (GRE) taken within 5 years of preceding application.
  • Three professional references.
  • For international students, TOEFL minimum requirements: Paper examination: 550 or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score minimum: 6.5, taken within the last 2 years.
  • A completed basic statistics course with a grade of 'B' or higher taken within the last 5 years.
  • A completed Organic Chemistry or Biochemistry course with a grade of 'B' or higher taken within the last 5 years. 
  • Minimum one year work experience in critical care as a registered nurse, two years preferred. 
  • Employment Verification Form
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification 
  • CRNA Shadowing Experience Form

Application and Fee

Application deadline: April 1

  • A completed NursingCAS application must be submitted before the application deadline. Admission staff review and the top applicants are invited to interview and submit a writing sample. All fees are accessed through the NursingCAS application. The School of Nursing Application Fee is $45 and is non-refundable. The NursingCAS fee is separate and is set by NursingCAS.


  • The admissions application, NursingCAS fee, and official transcripts are due to NursingCAS by the application deadline. Please submit official transcripts of all attended schools to:
