OT faculty present at American Occupational Therapy Association annual conference

Department of Occupational Therapy faculty presented at the AOTA INSPIRE | 2025 Annual Conference and Expo held April 3–5 in Philadelphia.

Assistant Professor Mei-Ling Lin, PhD, OTR, co-presented “Exploring the Global Pandemic of COVID-19 on the Transition to OT Graduate Programs” with Roland Martinez, OTR, a recent graduate of the OTD program.

Assistant Professor Michael Bermudez, EdD, OTR, presented a workshop entitled “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence in OT Research: Enhancing Efficiency, Accuracy, and Insights.” He delivered a second presentation on the practical applications of artificial intelligence-machine learning in predicting variables from rehabilitation data. 

Associate Professor Ana Allegretti, PhD, OTR, ATP, was the primary presenter on research related to the relationship between burnout and physical activities in health professions graduate students and was a co-presenter with students on research related to burnout and life satisfaction among health professions graduate students. 

Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy Bridgett Piernik-Yoder, PhD, OTR, FAOTA, and Associate Professor/Clinical Autumn Clegg, EdD, OTR, participated in the AOTA Academic Leadership Council meetings held April 1–2. Piernik-Yoder, associate dean for academic affairs for the School of Health Professions, is the current chair of the AOTA Special Interest Section (SIS) Council and was engaged in many of the SIS conference events, including the networking reception and open house conversations held over the course of the conference schedule.
