Occupational therapy professor joins Leadership Women Texas

Occupational Therapy Professor and Chair Bridgett Piernik-Yoder

Department of Occupational Therapy Professor and Chair Bridgett Piernik-Yoder, PhD, OTR, FAOTA, is a member of the Leadership Women Texas 2023 cohort.

The leadership program includes women leaders across a variety of industries and aligns with her professional and personal priorities, Piernik-Yoder said.

“I have dedicated my academic career to being an educator and leader at a state-supported academic medical center because I believe in the strength and the value of public institutions,” Piernik-Yoder wrote in a letter supporting her application to the program. “As a fourth generation Texan, I am highly committed to the success of my institution and community, and I am deeply motivated to support the achievements and well-being of those around me.”

Piernik-Yoder thanked School of Health Professions Dean David Shelledy, PhD, RRT, RPFT, FAARC, FASAHP, and the President’s Office at UT Health San Antonio for their support of her participation in the program.

“I am very excited for the opportunities offered through Leadership Women Texas and it is a unique experience to be able learn from and interact with women leaders from all industries,” she said.

The program includes three meetings across the state. The first meeting was held in Dallas Feb. 26–28, and the second and third meetings will be in College Station in May and El Paso in September.
