Attention Prospective PA Students: Open House Set for April 12
By Kate Hunger
Prospective students interested in learning more about the Physician Assistant Studies master’s program at UT Health San Antonio are invited to register for a free and informative PA Open House scheduled for April 12.
The open house will feature admissions staff from the School of Health Professions, faculty from the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and current PA students. Attendees will receive application information, including prerequisites, as well as insights about what expect during the application process, said Leticia Bland, MPAS, PA-C, Assistant Professor.
“It’s an opportunity to get more information to plan and prepare for life in PA school,” said Bland, who serves as associate clinical coordinator for the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
Not all prospective applicants realize the program follows a full-day schedule and is not offered part-time or online, Bland noted. Accordingly, admissions staff will discuss financial considerations and scholarship opportunities during the open house, which also will include a tour of classrooms and a student panel. Attendees typically enjoy having access to students to learn firsthand about their application and interview experiences, she said.
The open house begins at 3 p.m. at the Academic Learning and Teaching Center on the Long Campus.
The application for the 2019-2020 cycle opens on April 26 and closes on Oct. 1.
