Allied Health Games offer students a break for interprofessional fun and friendly competition
About 150 School of Health Professions students competed in the 2025 Allied Health Games on Nov. 8 in pursuit of bragging rights and a well-earned study break.
Five teams converged on campus to face off in nine games: indoor basketball, indoor volleyball, pickleball, sand volleyball, corn hole, softball, kickball, flag football and tug-of-war.
The teams represented the programs of physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory care, physician assistant studies and a combined effort from imaging sciences and medical laboratory sciences. Physical therapy students took first place, respiratory care students finished second, while occupational therapy students took third.

Held for the first time in 2015, the annual games give students a chance to take a break from their studies to have fun with students across the school.
“It’s a time to get out of all the studying and be active and to enjoy friendly competition with one another,” said Abigail Bouzigard, vice president of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Class of 2027 and one of the organizers of the games.
The Allied Health Games trophy is engraved with the name of the winning team each year and displayed in the respective department office until the next games.
“It is a great way to highlight the importance of interprofessionalism and team work in a fun way outside of the classroom,” said Senior Associate Dean David Henzi, EdD, FASAHP.
