Distinction in Research Program

A faculty committee within the School of Health Professions developed a new program for students - Distinction in Research.  This program allows students interested in research to work with a faculty mentor on an independent research project while also interacting and learning from faculty researchers within the School of Health Professions.  This program may interest those who want to pursue a career in academia or apply to other advanced degree programs. This unique distinction will be highlighted in your graduation commencement program.

Requirements to enter the program are listed below;

• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 throughout the program
• The research mentor must be a UTHSCSA faculty member
• Only one student is accepted per SHP program
• Attendance at SHP research lunch and learns and the SHP research retreat
• Abstract submission and acceptance to conference (state, national or international)
• Present research overview at the SHP Distinction Committee meeting
