Project Profile

South Texas Simulated Teaching Hospital

In support of the UT System Rio Grande Valley Initiative, Facilities Management is constructing a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art simulation teaching hospital at our Regional Academic Health Center (RAHC) in Harlingen.   Construction began in the spring of 2013 and will conclude this fall.

The 15,000-square foot facility will include a fully functional 20-bed teaching hospital with designated teaching areas for Trauma and ER, Obstetrics and Pediatrics, and Medical and Surgical simulations. Simulation equipment will include a combination of low, medium and high-fidelity mannequins for adults, children, babies, newborns and birthing.
