Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery welcomes Ahmad Masri, DDS, MD

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at UT Dentistry welcomes Ahmad Masri, DDS, MD, a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon known for delivering expert, compassionate care that puts patients first.
“Dr. Masri brings his expertise in orthognathic, cleft, craniofacial and TMJ surgery to our department, which will expand the care we offer patients and learning opportunities for our residents. His addition helps us continue to provide a broad range of major oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures to South Texas,” said Edward Ellis III, DDS, MS, professor and chair of the School of Dentistry’s Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Background and professional expertise
Born in Jerusalem and originally from Palestine, Masri moved to the United States in 2010. He earned his dental degree with high honors from New York University College of Dentistry and was inducted into the Omega Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. He then completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery, earned his medical degree and completed a general surgery internship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.
Masri further specialized in cleft and craniofacial surgery through a fellowship at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida, where he received advanced training in all aspects of cleft and craniofacial surgery, including cleft lip and cleft palate repair, bone reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, pediatric trauma and pathology.
Masri offers comprehensive care across the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including:
- Facial trauma management
- Wisdom teeth removal
- Dentoalveolar surgery
- Orthognathic (jaw) surgery
- Pathology and reconstructive procedures
- Cleft lip and palate surgery
- Pediatric craniofacial care
“I strive to stay current with the latest knowledge and techniques to provide the best possible care for patients,” Dr. Masri said. “My philosophy of care focuses on compassion and patient-centered treatment. I care for my patients with respect and dignity, see them as individuals and involve them in every step of their treatment plan.”
Outside of his clinical work, Masri enjoys spending time with family and friends. As a lifelong soccer enthusiast, he’s always ready to watch or play a match.
