About Me

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I moved to San Diego, California in 2020 to attend the University of California San Diego, where I majored in Molecular and Cell Biology with a minor in Studio Art. I had the privilege to learn and train under Dr. Paul Lu and Dr. Mark Tuszynski at the Tuszynski Lab for Neural Repair in the Spinal Cord Injury Group at UCSD. This lab position led me to apply to the UCSD  contiguous BS/MS Independent Research Track, which allowed me to graduate in 5 years with both my BS and MS. I am excited to begin my career at UTHSCSA, shifting my research focus to Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics.

Why I chose MD/PhD

I chose MD/PhD because I want to keep asking questions with the ultimate goal of improving medicine and developing new therapies. I hope to do work that will leave a lasting beneficial impression on the field of medicine and a positive impact to patient lives.

I chose UT San Antonio because of the strong sense of community, the extremely supportive staff, and the shared dedication to the improvement of science and medicine.
