M.D./Ph.D. Student

Haity Qin is a medical student in the South Texas Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD Program). She will enter into the graduate school portion of the training program in 2026.


 

About Me

Haity was born in China and moved to Texas in the second grade. She attended UT Austin and graduated with a Biology and Neuroscience degree. She worked as a research technician at UTSW for four years before coming to UTHSCSA.

Why I chose MD/PhD

I chose MD/PhD because I can integrate both laboratory-based knowledge and a clinical perspective into diversifying the medical and research databases and make an impact as medicine trends towards individualization.

Why I chose MD/PhD at UT Health San Antonio

The sense of community here is strong as well as the individual-level care the administrative team provides to each of their students.
