About the Endowment
The PTAA has taken the lead in providing financial aid to incoming and current PT students at UTHSCSA. We are the only organization or formal program at UTHSCSA with such a mission. As many of our alumni know, funds are often slim when going to school. We would like to take some of the financial burden off these deserving students and allow them to focus on their studies. Our endowment is a sum of money that is entrusted to UTHSCSA marked specifically for the PT student scholarships. This endowment will gain interest and this interest will yield the money for these scholarships. The larger the endowment, the more interest generated, and the more scholarships created.
Our new goal ($100,000) and our current status ($80,000)
We are grateful to healthcare facilities and individuals that are so gracious in donating to the PTAA endowment for PT student scholarships. Through their donations, they demonstrate their commitment to the education of our future clinicians. Our largest contributors ($500-$3000) are listed below. A list of current and past contributors (<$500) can be seen by clicking here. Together, they comprise the PTAA’s Job Fair/Board partnership and their employment opportunities can be viewed on the online job board (click “jobs”).

How to Donate
To donate, mail a check to"PTAA" with "endowment" on the "For" line. We will send you a receipt, so you can include with your taxes. If you have any questions email Mike Geelhoed.

PTAA Student Scholarship Recipients
With the huge success of our PTAA Endowment, we were able to award the first 2 scholarships at our 2005 Bash. The recipients were Tammy Crisp (class of 2006) and Michelle Cockrum (class of 2007). Congratulations, Tammy and Michelle! You deserve it!
Physical Therapy Alumni Association Student Scholarships
Fall/Spring scholarships of $500 will be awarded to two (2) students from each of the MPT II and MPT III classes. A Spring scholarship of $500 will be awarded to two (2) students from the MPT I class. Deadline for MPT II and MPT III applications is July 31st, 2008. Deadline for MPT I applications is October 31st, 2007. These awards are funded from the UTHSCSA-PTAA endowment for student scholarships.
