The Department of Emergency Health Sciences is committed to bringing you the best in emergency and pre-hospital education and training. For over 30 years we have been a recognized leader in EMS education and we look forward to maintaining and improving that tradition! With three divisions, our department is designed to facilitate the needs of our customers and communities of interest.
Under the direction of Mark Dieterle, this division coordinates all levels of EMS certification and the Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Sciences. Our EMT-Basic and Paramedic programs award college credit for successful completion. (As a Health Science Center, we cannot award an Associate Degree.)
Under the direction of Joe Lindstrom, the Pre-hospital Services division offers continuing education, medical direction, infection control activities, and quality assurance and improvement for contracted EMS agencies.
Under the direction of Ms. Leslie Hernandez, this division offers all levels of EMS certification courses, NREMT and DSHS approved EMS continuing education; and, as an AHA designated Training Center, all American Heart Association Life Support certificate courses.
