The Bachelor of Science program in CLS is a four-year course of study that consists of a minimum of 128 semester credit hours. Core curriculum, basic science, and basic clinical laboratory science courses should be completed at a regionally accredited college or university during the first two years of study. The third and fourth years of the program are completed at the Health Science Center and are comprised of advanced clinical laboratory science courses and clinical practicums. The baccalaureate degree in CLS provides graduates with the knowledge and skills to perform as clinical laboratory scientists in clinical laboratories as well as research laboratories and industry. Graduates are qualified to take the national certification examinations.
