January 29 was truly a great day for our Health Science Center as we came together to recognize excellence throughout our institution. The 16 recipients of the Presidential Awards have been shining examples of this standard of excellence in their offices, labs, clinics and classrooms. Their dedication and leadership provide the groundwork for the future generation of scientists and health care providers. Their hard work leads to improvements in the health and health care of the people of our region.
I am incredibly honored to recognize the people who make this institution what it is today: a pillar of knowledge, discovery and service to humanity. The honorees not only reflect the Health Science Center’s high standard of excellence, they also reflect the fact that we are truly a dynamic university on the move.
To all our faculty and staff, thank you for your dedication and service to this university. The success we celebrate is the result of our unique combination of talent and teamwork. May this celebration inspire each of us to renew our personal commitment to this institution and our collective mission.
