UTHSC Spurs Night is April 8

The special events council invites the university community to attend UTHSC Spurs Night at the Alamodome April 8. Take a co-worker, friend or family member to see the Spurs take on the Portland Trailblazers at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $21, $30 and $41 and include a Spurs "Gotta Be There" T-shirt and a coupon for a free popcorn and soft drink.

Poetry sought for enrichment program

Could you be the next Walt Whitman or William Shakespeare? Find out by submitting your poetry for inclusion in "The Healing Power of Poetry: A Spring Enrichment Program for Students and the Faculty Who Teach Them" library exhibit and poetry reading. The enrichment program will take place April 25 and 26 on campus during National Poetry Month.

Visiting professor Dr. Diane Kaufman, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a recipient of the 2000 Humanism in Medicine Award from the Health Care Foundation of New Jersey, will lead the program.

Rotary Club scholarships available

The Rotary Club of San Antonio is accepting applications for its Rotary International Scholarships. The scholarships allow qualified students to study in a foreign country for one academic year during 2003-2004 with all expenses paid. The deadline to apply is May 1. Grants office moves temporarily

The office of grants management has temporarily moved to where the old bookstore once was in Room 1.343 in the Dental School. Renovations are being made to the original office space in Room 400L of the School of Medicine. Renovations are scheduled to be completed in early May.
