Photographic and graphic services merge to benefit clients
Effective March 1, the graphic services and photographic services divisions of educational resources will be combined under one administrative umbrella. The united division will be called multimedia and Web services.
David Barrera, director of graphic services for the past 18 years, will assume a new role as strategic planner for the executive director of the office of educational resources until Barrera's planned retirement on Aug. 31.
Al Julian, director of photographic services, will assume directorship of the new division. The new division will offer complete photographic, medical illustration/graphic services and Web services. Offices for the combined services will remain in room 4.476T in the Dental School building.
Barrera said he looks forward to his new role with great anticipation, while Julian notes that clients can still obtain the same services from the former divisions and new services as technology develops.
"We expect this streamlining move to benefit clients as our employees work more closely with one another and clients are able to enjoy one-stop shopping for their photographic, illustration, Web design and consulting, display and other imaging services," said Jerry York, vice president and chief information officer. "We are indebted to both David Barrera and Al Julian for their many years of quality service and leadership."
