Conference to focus on new agents in oncology

The Practical Applications of New Agents in Oncology conference will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Adams Mark Hotel on the Riverwalk, 111 Pecan St. East. The Cancer Therapy and Research Center and the UTHSC Medical School are sponsors of this Continuing Medical Education conference. Cost is $95 for physicians and $65 for other health professionals. Registration is required.

The conference will focus on the large number of anti-cancer agents and therapeutics that have been approved over the last several years, as well as those that will likely be approved. Speakers will discuss the incorporation of these agents into standard clinical practice, providing guidance to front-line clinicians regarding current or projected appropriate use of these therapeutics. Topics will include both early and late stages of various malignancies, and combined modality therapies (chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy) whenever pertinent. Question-and-answer sessions will follow each lecture.
