Get a bargain on ThinkPad

The orthopaedics department is selling a ThinkPad 4x/4x/20x CD re-writable Ultrabay 2000 drive at a discount price of $200. The original price was $400. The new ThinkPad was ordered in November 2000 but was never used. For more information, call Diane Carranco at ext.

Event to benefit PREMIEre program in neonatology

The Arathi School of Indian Dance presents "La Meri," a presentation of the lives of four notable women, Amelia Earhart, Indira Gandhi, La Meri and Mother Theresa, performed in classical ethnic dance (African, ballet, Chinese, flamenco, Japanese). Proceeds will benefit the PREMIEre Program in the department of pediatrics/division of neonatology. The presentation will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Ronald Reagan High School auditorium, 20730 Huebner Rd. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Admission is $10. Students and senior citizens will be admitted for $5.

Research collaboration topic of Feb. 22 seminar

The Lunch n' Learn seminar, hosted by the Industry University Cooperative Research Center, will take place at noon Thursday, Feb. 22, in Room 2.010 near the Briscoe Library. Dr. Dan Helton of DFP Pharmaceuticals will discuss "Research Collaboration Opportunities in Dermatology, Wound Care and Infection Control." Boxed lunches will be provided. The seminar is free. IRS to provide tax help for non-resident visitors

The office of international services will host three income tax help sessions for Health Science Center non-resident international visitors. Internal Revenue Service representatives will be on campus Feb. 21 and 22 to present an overview of non-resident income tax requirements, answer individual tax questions and assist with the preparation of U.S. income tax forms. Non-residents with all types of questions are welcome. For more information, call ext. 7-6241.

Volunteers needed for Fiesta de Tejas

If you are interested in volunteering at the Health Science Center's Fiesta de Tejas on Friday, April 20, please call Sandy Westerman, volunteer coordinator for the event, at 7-4206 or e-mail her at westerman@uthscsa.edu.

Volunteers who help in a booth for 90 minutes receive free admission to the event.

This year's festival is scheduled from 5 p.m. to midnight April 20 on the main campus. The family-oriented event features food and drinks, live entertainment, a children's area, arts and crafts, and much more. It is a sanctioned Fiesta event.
