Seven members of the Health Science Center's chapter accepted the plaque during the ASDA's annual national conference in Boston. "We are so excited to finally have our local leaders recognized for all their hard work," said Tonya Christal, third-year dental student and chapter president. The plaque will be displayed in the Dental School's third-floor student lounge.

The ASDA is a national student-run organization that protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of students pursuing careers in dentistry.

The association provides students with information, education, advocacy and services. It introduces them to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and promotes change for the betterment of the profession.
