Diabetes is topic of Nov. 14 Breakfast Health Promotion Seminar

The School of Nursing invites the university community to its seventh Breakfast Health Promotion Seminar to be held from 7:45 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the San Antonio Country Club, 4100 N. New Braunfels. Theresa de la Haya, vice president of the community health division of the University Center for Community Health and a member of the Nursing Advisory Council, will be the guest speaker. She will discuss "Improvements in the Care and Prevention of Diabetes in the New Millennium." De la Haya has served in upper management and administration in the health care field for more than 15 years.

The Nursing Advisory Council established the Breakfast Health Promotion Seminar series in 1998 in an effort to share with the San Antonio community the latest in health care research issues and to increase community awareness of the School of Nursing and its educational programs and research.

Cost to attend the breakfast is $20 per person. Proceeds from the school will support nursing scholarships at all levels. For more information, call ext. 7-3833.
