Eighth annual Briggs lecture scheduled for Oct. 25
The department of pharmacology invites the university community to attend its eighth annual Arthur H. Briggs Lecture at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in room 409L in the Medical School. Dr. Raymond Dingledine, professor and chairman of the department of pharmacology at the Emory University School of Medicine, will discuss "Genomics Approaches to Epileptogenesis."
Dr. Dingledine is a world renowned expert on receptors, such as glutamate, for excitatory amino acids. He uses multiple approaches, particularly electrophysiological and molecular biological, in his studies. His research is relevant in the study of seizure disorders and stroke-induced brain damage.
