White named to national VP post
Dr. Gary White, director of academic and facilities scheduling in student services, recently was elected vice president of the Association for Multidiscipline Education in the Health Sciences (AMEHS). He will serve a one-year term. AMEHS delegates selected Dr. White at the group's 32nd annual meeting, held at the University of Washington. Among its missions, AMEHS promotes the exploration of educational approaches and acts as a clearinghouse for information on the planning and operation of multidiscipline facilities.
While in Seattle, Dr. White toured laboratories and classrooms of the university's Health Sciences Complex. University presentations included discussions on local successes and challenges associated with the University of Washington Dental Simulation Clinic, the Willed Body Program and the Standardized Patient Program.
Dr. White also represented the Health Science Center at meetings in the United Kingdom, where he was the invited guest speaker for a CELCAT® site license event. CELCAT® is the computer-assisted timetabling application used to produce schedules at the Health Science Center.
