Courses in Web coding offered

Information management and services will offer two courses for Health Science Center employees who develop Web pages. Emphasis will be placed on coding for users with disabilities. The first course is a general discussion about Web page accessibility issues and will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, in room 444B, Medical School building. The second course includes hands-on instruction and will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. the same day in room 2.106 at the Allied Health/Research Building. Dr. Jim Allan, noted authority on Web accessibility and usability, will lead both sessions. Dr. Allan is the webmaster and statewide technical support specialist for the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Austin. He is a member of several working groups in the World Wide Web Consortium, the international standards body.
