Dr. Chinoy elected as TMA resident section chairman
Dr. Shakeeb Chinoy, resident in the department of radiology, is the new chairman of the Texas Medical Association Resident and Fellows Section (TMA-RFS).
The 37,000-member TMA is the largest state medical society in the United States. Founded in 1853, the TMA also is one of the oldest medical societies in the country.
Dr. Chinoy also serves on the Board of Councilors, the Texas Political Action Committee board of directors, the Council on Member Services, the Executive Council of the TMA-RFS and the speakers' bureau of the TMA.
At the Bexar County Medical Society, Dr. Chinoy serves on the board of directors, the membership committee and the committee on international health. He also is a delegate from Bexar County to the TMA House of Delegates.
Dr. Chinoy also represents the residents on the graduate medical education committee of the Health Science Center.
